Damaged Dec 01, 2012
By 96se I received my guitar and discovered large cracks in the body and the plastic cover for the tuner loose in the bag. Obviously the guitar had been dropped before is was shipped. The return and refund was handled very quickly and efficiently. I bought another Ovation from another source.

starting over Jan 17, 2010
By Robbie I received the item a few days ago through Amazon.com from "theguitarfactory" and only recently noticed hairline cracks on both sides of the neck and a tiny piece of the wood has flaked off. The guitar sounds ok but I really don't know if the cracks are a minor or major problem.
-----> UPDATE<----
I returned the defective unit and received a new replacement guitar in good condition from [...]- Everything seems fine now!

What I get for buying the low-end model Mar 28, 2013
By R. Hood I've bought/played Ovation my whole life, so I definitely have brand loyalty, and knows its sound and quality. This is my first 12-string, and honestly, I now play it a lot more than I do my 6-string Celebrity. However, even never having played a 12-string before, I am noticing a couple of issues.
First, it doesn't seem to want to hold its tune. I've only experienced this behavior with "cheap" instruments: Minus one star. Second, while I'm tuning it, the low-octave A string strikes some kind of resonance with the internal electronics, and I can hear a rattling vibration inside the body when I pluck it. Um...not good: Minus another star.
I know, I get what I paid for, even with Ovation. However, those issues aside, it produces a sound that is so rich and robust compared to a 6-string that I have a hard time putting it down. Next time, the Balladeer. ;)
