5It's better than you'd think!  Oct 15, 2010
By Randall Laclaire "Zezaekrael"
I've been playing guitar for a little over 30 years and I have to say I'm impressed. I have owned some top of the line Fender, Ibanez and Gibson guitars in my time. Take it for what it's worth and trust my opinion or don't but I'm here to tell you this B.C. Rich starter beats some other companies' high end guitars with ease. I purchased this for my 16 year old son on his birthday and I have played it myself several times. The setup was perfect right out of the box. Even the intonation was as close to perfect as my equipment and my ears can detect! If you know anything about guitars, you know it's very rare that a company sends them out with a good setup. If you aren't a Luthier yourself, you end up paying one to take care of a setup before you'll dare play. This B.C. rich doesn't sound tinny or empty. It's full of sound that just sits in there wanting to come out. Other than my Strat, this is likely the guitar I find easiest to bring out pinch harmonics and all the playful sounds! It screams plain and simple. The amp itself is not top of the line. Obviously if you or the person you are buying this for is a serious player you'll want to get them an amp with more beef. But at the same time for someone just starting out, the amp is perfect. It keeps up with my smaller practice amps for volume and it doesn't break up too badly unless you distort it at 10. All in all I don't think you'll find many guitars better for a beginner, or even intermediate player. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to find a couple of old pros playing one of these.

5Very Good Guitar and Amp at an unbelievable price!  Jun 20, 2010
By Murali T. Panen
This guitar has the best quality! Its frets are big enough for beginners. And its amp is good also.
The price of other companies for B.C. Rich guitars are expensive. But amazon has the good price.
