SUPERB Jun 22, 2011
By Victor I have a few chorus pedals that are more expensive than this Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus pedal. But this pedal is at least as good as, and in at least one way BETTER than, the more expensive ones I have. It produces a beautiful chorus effect that also thickens the guitar's sound. (Of course, a common reason for using chorus in the first place is precisely to thicken sound.) And it has one feature that no other chorus pedal I own has: an eq dial. This isn't a typical tone control; instead, its purpose is to allow you to take some brightness off the sound, and it's more subtle than a typical tone control. Some chorus pedals produce an almost painfully bright sound. The eq dial on the Danelectro pedal allows you to tone down the brightness. It does not dramatically affect the sound, but it does effectively cut out excessive treble. This pedal is easily worth the current cost (about $45). If that's still too much for you, Danelectro also offers the very nice "Danelectro D-5 Fab Chorus Effects Pedal." This too is a gem (though it lacks an eq dial), and it's dirt cheap (currently a mere $14.99!). Bottom line: If you want a great chorus pedal, the Danelectro Cool Cat is a great choice.
