I play the slide on a 12-string acoustic guitar in standard tuning.
This one enhances the highs, but less than a metal one.
Theoretically, it could be worn during the whole song because it is light-weight but if the room is warm or you are playing hard the finger gets wet and the slide cannot be managed easily while skipping from chords to slide phrasing.
If you have a slide-holder on stage and you are fast in wearing the slide everything will be fine.

I have been around and around with dunlop slides and finally hit the right combination for me. This short heavy wall was sized up to ring size 10.5 my baby finger measured size 11. I took a chance on this and am glad I did. The fit and feel are perfect.

I was surprised to only find one slide in my package, I was expecting 5 of various sizes and lengths. I'm sure a thorough reading would have explained this, but who reads all of that stuff for a $6 purchase.
Besides that it's a little big for my left ring finger, I love it. It's the best I have found. So far...
