5Here's why they are so loved  May 30, 2010
I have been using the EB Regular Slinkys since 1980. I have used this set on every type of electric guitar that you can imagine. From Les Pauls to Stratocasters and everything in between these strings have been an essential part of each one of my guitars.

The strings sound warm and bright (good articulate treble highs with clear but subtle bass lows) without any shrill "tin-like" noise. Being that these strings do not overpower the tone of your guitar, you can be assured that you will get to hear the heart of the tonewoods your guitar is made from. Any style of music can be played on these strings without fear of an inferior performance.

Easy to clean...durable...reliable...consistent high quality...versatile...inexpensive. This is the set loved by millions for several generations. This is Ernie Ball.

5Sounds good. Great for drop tuning.  May 14, 2010
I always used Ernie Balls, and these one are great for down tuning. They're just the right tension for Open and Drop B. They're just a little too tight for drop C.

5Returning after trying many other brands.  Apr 11, 2010
I have used Ernie Ball Slinky Guitar Strings on and off for over 28 years. I just used some DiMarzo's and am once again returning to E.B. Regular Slinky's for this guitar. I have never found a better string for the low side of 6 dollars. They have a good rich sound and last better than some brands. I like them.

3Buy only if you MUST!!  Apr 07, 2010
I've bought these strings twice.

The first time, I was just trying them out.
The second time, I was just being stupid.

I'm NOT particularly picky about name brands and I never will be, but these strings are absolutely terrible at staying in tune. Let's say you buy these strings on a Monday and you play your guitar for ONE HOUR everyday up until Saturday.....by Sunday, you're strings are going to sound dead! I'm not exaggerating.

The only way that I'll by these strings a 3rd time is if I really, really don't have $6 to get my DR Tite Fit strings.

5the best for the price  Mar 17, 2010
These are the best strings for the price. Nice tone and sustain. Sound good even after keeping them on a while and, if you're playing something like funk, they sound even better with a bit of play in them. Never had an issue with them breaking either and I am a little heavier on strings than a lot of people. Have been using these for years and always have good luck with them.
