Only use in an emergency May 30, 2012
By Mike Tarrani

These strips are relatively thick and stiff and are not truly optimum for attaching snare wire sets to your throw-off and butt.
A better solution is grosgrain ribbon, such as Grosgrain Ribbon 5/8 Inch 30 Yards White (or a color of your choice). In most cases the simple (and inexpensive) replacement of the plastic snare wire straps with grosgrain ribbon will result in an immediately noticeable improvement in snare response. Do a search and you will get a large number of hits confirming this.
Most plastic snare straps are 3/8" wide, but I typically buy 5/8" wide grosgrain ribbon because it perfectly fits every snare drum throwoff and butt I've used it with. The thinner, 3/8" ribbon can cock when threading it through the strainer and butt clamps, skewing your wires. I've uploaded a customer-supplied image of one of my snare drums outfitted with grosgrain ribbon to show what I am talking about.
This plastic model is OK in an emergency, but should not be a long term fix if you must install it.

Doesnt slip Oct 03, 2011

Does its job as advertised.
Doesn't slip or any problems with that.
Enough strips for one lifetime.
If you're in a touring band, you might carry two packs of these.
Snare Straps Dec 24, 2012
By William Strong, flexible straps for attaching snare spring assembly to your snare drum. Should last a very long time if not over-tightened.

I thought these were made of nylon cloth material, NOT cheap plastic! Apr 08, 2013

My subject here pretty much explains my frustrations towards this product. Again, it makes me wish I lived MUCH closer to a high-end music gear retailer, such as Guitar Center, so that I could visit the place and look at the gear in person - before I make my decision to buy it! Unfortunately, that won't be happening for a while, since I'm out of the job and have to live partially on my parents' support in a very small town that's far away from any major city. What a BUMMER!!!
