I bought this to extend some RCA speaker wires with another pair of wires I had lying around. It serves exactly that purpose, and I have not noticed any quality degradation by using these to connect them.
I do have to mention though, the picture is misleading. These are actually two separate couplers, although the picture makes it seem like it is on piece. For me, this is no big deal, and actually works better in my opinion, but be aware of that.

I use these so I can easily switch cables on our stereo equipment and TVs. They work great and for the price, wonderful purchase!

did what i expected, extended 2 RCA connections.
i gave it one less star because i got one that has a sensitive connection but i'm sure its common over time,.

Used this to connect two rca cables. Works great, and was a tight fit. I'm not worried about it coming apart, or failing.
