Sturdy but not adjustable Dec 15, 2004
By Malcolm Dickinson This lamp is made of sturdy black metal, and it clips onto the top of the stand securely. (Unless you're using a Wenger plastic music stand, or a stand with a rolled top edge, in which case this light won't fit on the stand at all.)
The problem is that the light is not adjustable and the bulb throws light only on the top three inches of the music! That's why I have decided to use a metal clip-on light in the future. It's not available from Amazon, but it is adjustable, it lights the whole page, and it will clip onto any brand of stand.

Workable, IF you re-aim the light. Mar 10, 2008

Manhasset MH10001 Stand Lamp
Pros:
- Wide and strong frame blocks the light from the audience.
- Standard music folder fits on music shelf with this light attached.
- Accepts a wide variety of incandescent bulbs, such as tubular showcase bulbs from 20 to 60 watts, or the small-bodied compact florescent bulbs such as the Feit Electric ESL13T/D 13-Watt Compact Fluorescent Mini Twist Bulb (60-Watt Incandescent Equivalent), Daylight.
- Not expensive.
Cons:
- This lamp is not adjustable in any way, and the factory-set angle is inexplicably aimed at the upper part of the music shelf (see Customer Images). I got stuck using this lamp once, and wound up bending the lamp's sheet metal frame by hand to redirect more of the light onto the music.
- It doesn't fold, so it takes up too much space in a gig bag - assuming you carry it with you.
- Only fits metal stands without a rolled steel top, such as the Manhasset. So, if you take it with you to a gig that has non-Manhasset-type stands, it won't fit.
Summary:
Manhasset should make this product with an adjustable lamp angle. At the very least, the light should be redirected to the middle of the music shelf.

Very helpful in seeing the notes and chords. Feb 08, 2010

This light was a good accessory to my four score stand. It provides more then enough light to see the music with and isn't intrusive to the audience or the rest of the performers on stage. A must have for low light performances.

Improved and Virtually Perfect. Feb 17, 2013
By Ken I bought this to replace another Manhasset light assembly. What I HADN'T bargained for is the Vast improvement in this product by making this assembly TALLER, thus spreading the light down the entire page. This New Manhasset Stand Light w/ bulb has made music practice sessions PURE Enjoyment. I HIGHLY recommend this product!

buy a better light Nov 10, 2012
By Ray The light only hits the top of the page. The bottom of the page in the dark. The light clamps directly to the top of the stand. There is no adjustment. Get a better light.
