5Love it!  Jul 29, 2009
By M. E. Mahan
I own a couple of vintage guitars (1972 Gibson Dove and a 1988 Martin D-35)and am very careful about straps, I did not want to install a button and drill through the wood. I found this quick release system wonderful and feel secure using it.
Its simple to use very inexpensive and has lasted over a two year period of constant use.
Highly recommend.
By the way I have not had a problem with strap slipping from my shoulder.

5Easy to use and looks good, too  Aug 04, 2010

I wanted to put a strap on a borrowed guitar to avoid accidents. Since I did not want to alter the neck, I decided to try this. It was very easy to install, and looks neater than laces. I think it's also safer than knots, and can be removed easily if need be. It doesn't interfere with my hand, and I can still leave the strap on when I put the guitar in its case. Just what I needed.

5must have  Jan 23, 2007

Every acoustic guitar should have one of these. Much stronger than shoe lace, no knots, quick release, easy to attach, and cheap.

Plastic is not flimsy and looks like it will last a long time.

4Works well, a couple caveats  May 09, 2011

Simple enough, right? Works as advertised. A great simple idea that I'm glad someone put into production. For my taste, the loop is too long where it wraps around at the headstock/nut area, so I just tied it up snug. I had been using the Martin leather strap holder where your strap hooks onto a plastic button, and this is far more secure because straps sometimes work their way off of the button on the Martin holder. However, folks with brand new shiny expensive guitars might want to take note: while the nylon lace that wraps around is nice and strong, it is fairly rough and abrasive, and my experience is that it will very definitely wear at the finish of your git in that area. Won't rub the finish off or anything to that degree, but if you're freaky squeaky clean about maintaining cosmetic perfection on your guitar (which I am NOT), you will definitely notice the finish rubbed and dulled and even chipped a bit there at points of contact. I can think of a million simple solutions to that, but that's another story. Overall, great little item.

5Helpful accessory  Jul 11, 2011

My acoustic guitar, a Yamaha FG 700S (as well as other Yamaha acoustics), only have one strap button: on the bottom of the guitar. Thus, if you wish to use a strap, you will need to either tie a piece of string to the area between the headstock and neck (which could scratch up your guitar and be a pain to constantly tie and untie) or get this product. Its loops are made of a soft nylon that won't scratch your guitar neck and the clip makes removing your strap a breeze. This product combined with the Ernie Ball nylon strap was the perfect length for me right out of the box.
