We had an old copy of this book and all of my children now want their own copy. The only problem with it used to be that you had to know how the song goes to sing it--but now, with the internet, you can find then online so you can sing all of them! There are guitar chords for accompanying--or if you can use a piano fake book you can play along on the piano. I've never seen a better collection of folk music.

I had recently made a goal for myself that by the end of the school year, I wanted to be able to host sing-a-longs with the guitar in the classroom. Having no formal training in guitar, I needed a super simple breakdown and a wide variety of songs. A friend lent me this book, and as I was using it everyday, and loving it, I decided that I needed to have it myself, hence the purchase. The version I bought on Amazon has a spiral binding, which I like much better than the original version I borrowed from my friend. Great book full of classic songs and simple chords. I highly recommend.

This old classic is a must have at camp, around a fire, or at a drum circle. It's got all the old favorites, and many I'm sure you've never heard before. Crammed with chords, lyrics, and illustrations.

We've had this book for years. It has an outstanding selection of folk and rock songs. I wish they'd put out a second book with more recent songs.
