Wonderfully pleased! May 10, 2010
By Dapper Dan I just took delivery of a 17 year old Takamine c132s, and feel like a kid in a candy store. I couldn't be happier with the sound, the high quality original finish, and the construction quality (like new -- can't believe it was built in 1993). I agree with one of the other reviewers, there is little difference between the sound of this guitar and those brands selling new for $3,000, and no difference in the construction quality.

exceptional quality and sound Apr 03, 2010
By T. Marcroft I have owned this in the C series since 1978 and this guitar produces a melodic and acute sound that compares to instruments costing twice as much. After 30 years it is still the best guitar I have ever owned. Highly recommended!

Great Sound Mar 22, 2009
By C. Lauderdale You will fall in love with this classic. Easy to play with great, great sound. Mellow and bright. Sounds better than the normal main line guitars that cost three times more. Extreme projection as a stage guitar should have but soft and low when treated that way. I could buy a guitar for up to $4,000 but never find anything i like as well.

Transcendental Aug 28, 2012

My C132S was made in 1977. As a mastercrafted instrument, it continues to mellow with age (an important classical guitar characteristic). With proper care yours will too.
Every serious guitarist...whether hobbyist or performer...needs at least one good classical guitar to truly understand how to evoke soulful tone from wood with the most nuanced of finger strokes. Even electric bass players. If you can only have one, make it this one.
The C132S is everything a consummate classical guitar should be...and absolutely nothing more. It is perfectly elemental in design, perfectly crafted, and perfectly musical. It has been called "the ultimate student guitar" with playability and tone a master won't tire of.
One can find lower-priced solid topped classical guitars (I own one), but she/he will likely miss the awesome top-to-bottom tonality of the C132S. One can pay more as well (I have) and find oneself preferentially reaching for the C132S (as I often do).
By that reckoning, I call the C132S "a bargain, the best I ever had!" (apologies to Pete). Rock on!
