5Excellent Guitar at an Excellent Price  Dec 08, 2011
By Marge McCahon
I started playing a Signet when I was very young and could never quite master complicated chords or intricate picking patterns because of the bridge construction. I bought the Takamine at the advice of a friend who also has one and it is a dream come true. Had I started out on this guitar I may have made more of a go with my playing. It has a pleasant sound and it is relatively easy on the fingers. I would recommend this for anyone who is staring out because of the price point and the construction of the piece. Obviously there are models out there with a more robust sound but this guitar is a good one to get started with.

5Very satisfied  Jul 30, 2011

I just got my Takamine in the mail today, was a day beyond the estimated shipping..But hey, it's an estimate right.
No complaints, it looks great and most importantly it sounds better than I expected. It was strung up and almost in tune surprisingly. The built in tuner is pretty cool, The sustain is friggin nice. Definitely a great guitar for the price I say. I even have somewhat of a "thumbprint" pattern on the wood grain which I really like...Cause it's undeniably my guitar from the looks...Maybe someone would find something like that un-appealing...though i think it gives some good character to it.

3Not Bad, but...  Jun 12, 2012
By Jeff
I purchased this guitar as a backup to my Martin d-28, but to also have the electric capability and the cutout for playing up the neck. That part fit the need. I wasn't impressed with the action though and had to have it set up twice so far. Also the tuners are cheap and don't tune very smooth. The tuning jumps around while trying to tune. The built in tuner works great though. The overall tonality isn't really what I like; maybe I'm too used to the Martin sound quality. I'm thinking of selling this guitar and getting a cheaper Martin as a backup. I live in the Arizona Desert and don't want to take my D-28 out in the heat when I play in my bluegrass group, so I would like a cheaper Dreadnaught. I had an old Yamaha which I sold a while back; wish I never sold it.
