We get these reeds for my daughter that plays the Clarinet. We have been getting Vandoren since half way through her first year and absolutely love them. They perform better, they hold up long, and even though they cost more than Ricco, they are around alot longer.

If you have a clarinet player that is serious about being good, use this brand reed.

These reeds last for a long time and give an awesome tone. I have never found reeds that are better than Vandoren.

I switched to Vandoren from Rico Royal after a few years of playing. The price can be shocking to a beginning player. But you really do get your money's worth. A Rico box of 10 might include 3-5 good reeds, the rest you end up just throwing away. But in a box of Vandoren, having one bad one is less likely to happen. In 3 boxes, I've only had one I had to toss. The quality of these reeds is also way better than Rico; they really help produce a richer tone. Buying them on Amazon allows me to buy them at a more affordable price and still get my top quality reeds. Would definitely recommend this to all clarinet players.

My 17-year-old son has tried other reeds (Rico) and sees a big difference in them. He definitely prefers the Vandoren and has asked for them by name. He plays in the high school concert band, jazz band, marching band and pit orchestra for our high school musicals, and swears by these reeds.
