Gear 1 Music Newsletter
Notes and News
July 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Kenny,
American FlagThis issue celebrates products made in the USA, as well as some people made in the USA.  This is a fine country and we are all proud to be here.  The Digitech RP500, The Jimi Hendrix Wah Wah Pedal, Mr. Joe Satriani, The Dave Matthews Band, and Ovation Guitars  may not seem to have much in common; but they do.  They are all made in the United States of America.  To help you celebrate the Fourth of July, you might consider the Red, White and Blue Guitar Strap by D'Andrea.  There is a special coupon included to thank you for reading our Newsletter. Also made in the USA: JAZZ.  Check out John Coltrane, Jazz Play-Along Series, Volume 13 or some great Jazz Guitar Licks, 50 Licks Jazz Style.
       The Digitech RP500
Digitech RP500 The simplicity of a Stompbox ~ The control of an Effects Switching System.  The key elements to the RP500's control are the unique Amp/Cabinet Bypass function in conjunction with the Pedalboard mode.  The Amp/Cabinet Bypass defeats internal amplifiers and cabinets,  leaving only stompboxes and effects in your signal chain all with the press of a single button.  The Pedalboard mode lets you turn on and off individual stompboxes and effects using pedals 1-5.  Control your sound like the pros, personalized to your playing style. The RP500 is manufactured by Digitech in Utah in the United States of America.
                The Jimi Hendrix Wah Wah Pedal
Hendrix Wah Wah Pedal
No guitarist in history is more synonymous with
killer wah playing than Jimi Hendrix.
This is the original 1960's design, modified to Jimi's specs to deliver a fatter, more open sound by lowering the effects frequency range.  The result is an incredibly throaty, expressive wah that will speak volumes for you.   100% pure Wah Wah tone.  The Jimi Hendrix Wah Wah Pedal  is designed and manufactured by Dunlop in California in the United States of America.
Joe Satriani                Made in the USA
 The South African vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews formed the Dave Matthews Band in Virginia in the early '90s. Maybe Dave wasn't born in the USA, but his music pays tribute to the melting pot that is the United States.  As Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "We came on different ships but now we are all in the same boat."  These books are available NOW at Gear 1 Music and will afford you the luxury of learning and understanding one of the best Alternative Bands to emerge in the 1990's. Click on the title that interests you:
These four books are distributed exclusively by The Hal Leonard Corporation in Wisconsin in the United States of America.
...We are sending you this news from our store in Alabama.  Here in the South we generally celebrate the 4th of July weekend with barbecue, family, friends and music.  I am thankful to live in this country.
 ... I am proud to offer all of the products featured in this newsletter and to share that I have really been enjoying the Digitech RP500.  It is simple to use, but the sound is incredibly deep and complex.  There is a preset that sounds like a reverse-delay.  I am working to expand my Hendrix repertoire, and this sound is obviously Hendrix inspired.
...It's cool to share the same birthday as Joe Satriani (one of my heroes), so I want to represent his guitar strap and picks
...As a thank you to all our customers who subscribe to this newsletter, please check out the special coupon below and save an extra 10% by shopping July 3-5.
...Have a great holiday!   Kenny Stinnett, President - Gear 1 Music in Alabama in the United States of America.
Peaceful scene
